''Just because you like my music doesn't mean that I owe you anything.''
Bob dylan, born robert zimmerman, has always tried to dodge being typecast into a particular mould.
And in that he has been one of the most misunderstood
Branded as the 'voice of a generation' quite early in his life, he sort of 'resigned' from his post with the song, 'it ain't me babe.'
The irony is that the song is today considered a love song.
The contradictions in the music of dylan has never found a better reflection than in this album - desire.
From the typical dylan 'cause' song hurricane, one of the greatest protest songs of all times, to the sultry 'mozambique' or the exotic 'one more coffee...' every song is quite different from the other.
This however doesn't mean that each of these songs are the most beautiful, the most lyrical of his compositions.
And yes, the violin playing in the background in all these songs gives a different magical quality to all of them.
