I had a very pathetic experience at this hospital. Deshpande Eye Hospital is not a place to get your eyes checked or treated, the doctor(Dr Anand Deshpande) is too rude. The hospital is incompetent and a total waste of time and money. There is no quality in behaviour and treatment offered by both Doctor and hospital.
I visited this hospital in April 2022. Two rounds of eye check-up happened which involved some inexperienced assistants and so there was mismatch of the readings. Finally after getting prescription about readings, I thought to get spectacles from their hospital itself. So, spectacles were ordered. I asked to ensure the staff member(Ms Shefali) that the spectacles will be of same quality as of Lenskart, which she confirmed positively. I paid the amount and after waiting for 25 mins, I got the receipts.(If anyone visits this hospital, which I will not recommend, please ensure you have 2 hours in hand, as the total process took me more than 2 hours). Majority of the staff is too incompetent and too slow and they dont care of visitor's time.
After using the spectacles for 2-3 days, I found that there was manufacturing defect and also since it was a progressive lens, I was seeing blurred images at the sides of the spectacles. I returned the spectacles. The staff(Ms Shefali) accepted the spectacles and said that we will issue you the refund. I again contacted her 3-4 days later and again she reiterated that she is in touch with company to get refund. I tried to call her after 15 days of returning the spectacles and nobody picked the call. Then I call the receptionist and got a rude reply that we don’t refund the money. Later, that day, I met Dr Anand Deshpande and he said that it is mentioned in the receipt that the money will not refunded. I explained him the complete scenario but he was too rude and kept repeating that the money will not be refunded.
If the money was not to be refunded, then why it was not informed when spectacles was returned?
Why the staff(Ms Shefali) didn’t inform me about this policy when I returned the spectacles?
After paying the money, waiting for 25 mins to get receipt, will anyone predict the spectacles will be of inferior quality and so we should check the refund policy? And if by any chance, if one would have anticipated, then the money was gone and so refund will not be given. See the trap, this Deshpande Eye Hospital plays.
Dr Anand Deshpande cleverly covered up incompetence of his staff and quality of spectacles by mentioning the rule mentioned in receipt that the amount will not be refunded.
Since, I was promised that the money will be refunded and it was not said to me when I returned the glasses, that the money will not be refunded, I visited other eye specialist and ordered new spectacles. Then I realized that the readings and experience of other hospital was much upto the expectation than Deshpande Eye Hospital. My old spectacle(which is of Lenskart) and new spectacle(of Titan) both are better than the glasses given by Dr Anand Deshpande, which clearly shows the quality of spectacles sold by Deshpande Eye Hospital.
I lost 4.5 hours in this hospital, lost money and in addition they didn’t care to return the spectacles also. This is the level of cheating that happened in this hospital.
Thanks God, these pictures become clearer to me with a small cost and I didn’t go for laser operation(which I was thinking of). Just to inform Dr Anand Deshpande of this problem, I had to request thrice and had to wait for one and half hour to meet Dr Anand Deshpande. I have never been through such pathetic experience in any hospital and I pray GOD that people don’t go through such experiences.
I do not recommend the doctor due to his rudeness

I recommend Doctors like Dr Patwardhan or Vinayak Netralaya for people who stay in Kothrud as in those appointment these senior or experienced Doctors examine patients and not incompetent junior staff.
