Hello!
Dell Latitude E5400 is big waste of your money. I was a Dell fan and though I had 1 bad issue previously with another Dell's laptop but that did not broke my trust in the company but when I saw that my 85000 INR were wasted because of DELL Latitude E5400 I did not felt happy about it and I lost my trust in the company.
#1. User friendly: It's user friendly laptop and you won't feel anything odd about it.
#2. Reliability & Satisfaction: No, in fact a big NO! This laptop was very smooth and I did not had any issues whatsoever then after around 6 months or a little more I noticed that battery starts draining and the SMPS fan speed is fast most of the time even when you are performing simple tasks and no big computations. I first ignored all this but 1 day I noticed that the performance of retreiving data from hard disk is also impacted and I do not understand what makes the SMPS fans to run so fast and not only the fans running fast the whole laptop gets heated so badly that I cannot keep it on my laps without a cushion. I reported the issue to Dell and serviceman which looks serviceman less and a school dropout more changed the SMPS fan unit and said due to dust the fans was not working properly now everything should be fine but this was not the case. The heating just refuse to go. Next day I complained and I particularly said that fans has to run fast because the temperature of CPU get high because the whole laptop heats and to cool it off SMPS fans runs fast and the serviceman that you sent does not seems to understand or diagnose the issue. Actually my laptop was in warranty and I wanted if anything big is impacted it should be corrected fast. DELL sent a different serviceman and this man said that that out of the two 8 GB RAM stick, 1 RAM stick is blow and all load is coming on 1 RAM and may be that's the issue he changed it and we tested and still SMPS didn't settled and then he said I think motherboard needs to be changed. This serviceman didn't had the motherboard at that time with him and after 2 day he came and replaced the motherboard. So I got my motherboard, SMPS and 1 RAM stick replaced and though the core problem went away but due to all this open and closing of laptop manually by their serviceman the keyboard unit got impacted and first thing that happened is that back light went off permanently and then I faced few keys are not working and I again had to call DELL for this fix.
#3. Value for Money: It's not value for money. I bought it for 85000 INR with few customization and I opted CPU with desired BUS and clock speed along with increased Hard disk and RAM. I paid good amount and yet I was not happy.
#4. Service & Support: Though I lost the trust in DELL but their Service & Support team actually helps you when you need. Though all serviceman won't be good but when you inform that you're unhappy about something they do take it in account and tries to fix your issue as soon as they can in best possible way.
Personally I would not suggest anyone to buy this laptop as it is costly and you can check other brands and do research about them prior.
