Dekho Magar Pyaar Se!!!!. Review on Dekhona

Well this review is on a product not many of you must have heard of. I just happen to come across this web-site & have become a regular visitor since then. You must have seen its link & Ad on Mouthshut. Ok, no more guessing game now, it’s Dekhona.com. ( http://www.dekhona.com)

First Encounter:

Yes I had the same expression & thought you are having right now when I first heard the name.Found its link on Mouthshut. so just thought of browsing it. It’s a video sharing site where we can upload videos, watch & share videos. I call it the Indian YouTube. First time I saw some-videos on the home-page & some video of the day. The UI was just ok & did not appear very appealing. I clicked on some video to see those & was amazed at the speed at which those buffered. Within no time the entire 2 + mins video was buffered & I could watch it. The video quality is ok but what I like the best about this site is the buffer time.

Channel Found:

I created an ID & uploaded some of my fav videos. The upload speed was also very decent & it took just a few minutes to upload my videos. Then I tried exploring the site & I found some positive as well as negative things.

Bade Acche Lagte hai:

The best thing about the entire site is the speed. Pages load very fast, videos get buffered & uploaded quickly without much wait. The speed is just too good. Then there is this option of rating videos & adding it to hot-list. I liked a few videos so I hot-listed those & these videos get saved in my profile as book-mark. Oh btw your profile is called as channel in Dekhona. So I have many options in my channel. I can see videos uploaded by me, videos I have hot-listed, channels subscribed to & channels who have subscribed me.

Well we can subscribe to any members channel & whenever they upload a video, we get a notification mail. I subscribed to a few members who had uploaded some nice videos. After uploading a few videos, I got members who subscribed to my channel also.

Later I tried the video share feature. We can share any video on Dekhona on facebook, twitter & many more sites. I tried sharing some videos & could share it very easily. The interface was quite simple & convenient. Few days later I saw my video on the home-page of the site. Once my video was even shown as the Video of the day.

I regularly visit the site & find some nice videos. Trailers of latest movies are always available. Though there are not many videos daily, some are good. Once I saw a video which appeared to be good but was just some junk video, I was pissed to have wasted time on it, that’s when I noticed the flag button in video & I flagged with some reason. To my surprise, that video was deleted that day itself. So I have the power to flag unwanted & spam videos & they take immediate action.

I saw highlights of the cricket world cup on Dekhona as I missed a few matches due to office. Lately I have been following the JustDance videos. I miss the show, again due to busy schedule but can watch it here on weekends. Latest Movie trailers are also nice to watch.

Now things about the site that are just ok are the UI & the video quality. The UI(user interface) is just normal, not very appealing & so is the video quality. These two could have been a little better & can be improved.

Coming to the negative side, video quantity is not too much. Like out of 10 searches, 2-3 shows no result that means there are not many videos. However I have got some older videos which I never even expected, but there need to be more videos.

Another thing I experienced that sometimes some videos did not get played fully. It just stopped in between. Faced this problem few times & wrote them a mail. Have not experienced the same lately but faced this earlier.

Watch it & Decide:

Over all I like the site & it is in my list of sites I visit daily. Just hope that it becomes a little more lively & the quality improves a bit.
