Visual Delight. Review on Dekhona

Its seems Mouthshut has not done its homework well before having a tie-up this time and running a partner contest.

Friday, 11th May 2007, I see a mail from Jasmine. Yeah, its Jasmine Ahuja and a smile runs across my face the way it does for many of you out there. I hope its a personal mail just for me, from my dream gal. Naah.! Dissapointed.:(

Its says something about a video uplaod contest. Now here's the fun. Its with a never heard of site called "Dekhona.com"

My curiosity makes me click on the link - not to upload videos but just to see what's dekhona all about. The site hooks you on to it. Finally a video sharing site where you can see Indian content. The UI is pretty cool and navigation is quite easy.

Here are a few activities you can do on dekhona.com:

1] Watch videos [Hows silly was that.]

2] Upload videos [.mpg, .avi, .mp4, .3gp, .wmv, .mov, .asf, .mpeg, .dat are all acceptable file formats]

3] Rate videos.

4] Subscribe to a particular member's video.

5] Flag a video if you think its inapprppriate. [These guys seem to be taking this too seriously. I might have just flagged the video and upon refresing the page. poof. its gone. the video was deleted. Wonder if they monitor in real time.]

6] Commenting is ok. Nothing great.

The page where you watch the video also show's related videos. Maybe it has something to do with tags and also the latest videos. The profile page or should I say "Channels" page as they call it is really cool. Every thing is easy to understand, not conjested and easy to navigate. The channels page not only shows your vital stats but also shows videos uploaded not just by you but also your subscribers and people whom you have subscribed to.

This site is awesome. They have a wide variety of categoires.

Cartoons and Animation, Collage festvals, Documentary, Entertainment, Family and events, Movies, Music, Nature & wild life, News & Current Afairs, Religious, Sports, Tech & IT, Travel, TV Ads, TV Shows.

Man this is a wonderful place. And the best part is they are giving IPOD's. Dont know how true is that. Will update here if I get it.

Now once again I would like to tell Mr Faisl Farooqui and the Mouthshut team. Guys you did a wonderful job by giving us Mouthshut Videos but now you have competition. And its tough competition. I being a MS addict is being pulled to dekhona.com so next time you run partner contest do your homework correctly. Dont blame me I didn't warn you.
