Well let me tell you what led me to see Deewangee. Now being a hostelite I have no access to the T.V (woe is me and my kind) and had not seen any of the trailers of the movie and in turn didn't know anything about the movie. So when my dad (an avid rotarian) stuffed a ticket in my hand and said that his club had booked a charity show for Deewangee I thought Oh! God help me... , but surprise surprise I enjoyed the movie.
Now before you get all ready to go see this movie, I have to warn you anyone whose read or seen Primal Fear will know the crux of the movie, but fear not the Director has not stuck to the story of the book but has added his own lil masala (I've not seen the english movie and don't know if Deewangee is identical to Primal Fear the movie).

My Opinion
This is my fav. part, after all here I can tear apart the movie any which way I want (hehe). Lets see I liked the movie and felt that the mystery was maintained very well in both the 1st and 2nd halves of the movie.
This is a rare movie in which both the 1st and 2nd halves had a mystery behind it and that made for some interesting viewing. Ajay Devgan is fast becoming one of our best male actors (catching up with Amir Khan), so also is Akshaye Khanna. Akshaye played his character with amasing skill and in the 2nd half both male actors shone as bright as they could.
Urmilla Matondkar is possibly one of the most irritating heroines today, she simpers through almost every character shes given to play and does the same here as well (I think I dislike her :) ).
The first half is riddled with songs that are absolutely out of place, and the movie would have been far better without them, and to add to the pain the music was quite easily sub standard with not one song lingering on in the mind.
For once bollywood didn't make our police force look like a bunch of idiots though of course in the final fight sequence only Akshaye Khanna managed to follow Ajay Devgan though all of them (him and the police force) started out together, I wonder where they got lost????
Conclusion
Good movie, definitely not the standard bollywood formula. I'll congratulate Director Anees Bazmee for choosing a different Hollywood movie for getting inspired (hehe).
Definitely worth a single viewing. Go see it !!!!!!!
