Went to Deepam Hospital for a surgery for my dad who is 90 referred by our family doctor. He had a surgery costing 22k in removal of a skin clot on face and upper eye lid. I am sharing only the post care / administration care of the hospital and not the doctors.
1) Accompanying persons to the patients have to suffer in close / ill airy / ill ventilated corridors almost fighting for chairs to sit.
2) Post operation, insufficient hands to help the patients even to change the dress worn during surgery
3) handling the patients like some commodities and the act of shifting them from stretcher to wheel chair / bed even for some time Unless the accompanying persons shift / assist the hospital staff, the patients suffer silently. They assume that accompanying persons take care of such things and monitor the patients and call the hospital staff whenever necessary and they come as per their convenience to attend to the patients. The doctors find no time even to inform patients about post operation care / etc and they will leave in no time. It is only the accompanying persons have to run around anticipating all these.
4) They tend to assume that all parts of patients can withstand their handling except the required area where their treatment is sought.
5)All only oral instructions, nothing in writing / printed. They tend to assume that persons accompanying patients are many and can run around according to their convenience.
6) There are many branches / places are there in Tambaram for them, on place treatment is given / one place lab reports are given / one place doctor sits.
7) Simple instruction / information in the computer printed receipt would have solved many issues. like
Doctors availability at these places at times with address and tel No your next visit at(time) and at(address) with(doctors name) will not be there. Most of the families as all are working and temporary arrangements of calling relatives arose and these simple acts on the hospital part would go a great way to mitigating the anxiety of the family members

8) Went to Doctors Plaza(the address / phone Nos) were not printed anywhere in the information provided by the hospital . Operation conducted at Deepam Hospital(address available in the prescription)
9) The receptionist does not even willing to inform the correct address / route to go to Deepam Lab instead she said go to deepam hospital. Ok I engaged an auto(by paying whatever he demanded) and on reaching the reply was, sir, the lab report is not provided here and you have to go to lab which is near Passport office. Then walk there. Even there the security at the ground floor does not know where the lab is and instead he is directing all persons to first floor.I asked the counter at 2nd floor whether I can talk to any responsible persons on the above issues. His immediate reply was Nobody available"
I learned the hard way visit to Deepam maybe convenient provided you have many accompanying persons to the patients who will do all errands a two wheeler to go wherever they ask you to go.
There appears to be utter lack of co ordination in the hospital staff / assistants, the warmth of helping the patients / accompanying persons is not visible any where. But one thing, every body is very / doubly particular about the charges payable to the hospital as soon as possible.
10) Everywhere I have heard that bandage removing is done by the same doctor who performed the operation or their staff at the same hospital. Here they collect additional charges even for removal of bandages. Is it the normal practice? No stitch removal. Would like to hear others views
