Having watched the two movie, Hera Pheri and Phir Hera Pheri, I had long awaited the release of the movie De Dana Dan.I wouldn't say that I was very happy with the movie but then it was not so bad. I think it is a one time watch if u feel like being entertained by the three seasoned actors along with many more of them.

Plot- Nitin Bankar(Akshay Kumar) works as a servant in Archana Puran Singh's house to repay the debt his father had taken from her for his education. His friend Ram Mishra(Suniel shetty) is a courier boy who comes to Singapore to become an actor but instead of delivering dialogues he manages only to deliver the couriers. The two fed up with their lifestyle decide to kidnap 'Mulchandji'(Puran Singh's pet dog), but ends up creating endless confusions. And from here you feel the scriptwriter's job is complete.

The movie has its own set of problems, which has become so common in all the Hindi movies, and that is a lack of storyline. The movie cannot boast of having a good story line as you can see the lack of it throughout the 3hours. This is its biggest drawback, and for some the most important. It seems that the scriptwriter's only intention was to fill in the three hours. The so many sub plots in the movie makes us forget the main plot. In fact you feel there never was a main plot in the movie as all the stories fall on the same level of importance. Unlike the last two movies you will not find the three of them together. This is where the director has gone wrong. We loved the other two because they were all together and the movie revolved around them. Priyadarshan's attempt to bring so many seasoned comedians together has in a way back fired as it divides the attention of the audiences who have gone to watch the trio in action. I wouldn’t call this as a sequel as it was supposed to be.

However the film gains on its comedy for if nothing else all the actors have delivered a good performance(even the dog). You will find youself laughing all through the movie Specially after the kidnapping of the Dog. Some scenes in the movie are remarkable in their comedy like, when Johnny Lever makes the actors unconscious and throws them over one another and he himself then wipes his face with the chloroformed towel and joins them on the bed. Johnny lever has done a good show in this movie. At times  you feel he is better than Shetty and Rawal. The two somehow lack the energy which they are known for. Shetty's performance is a bit cold and Paresh Rawal's a bit too loud. When compared to them one feels that the other co-actors like Arsani, Rajpal Yadav, Johnny Lever etc have done a better job. As expected the heroines had little to do in the movie. In fact this is the only common link between all the three movies, in none of them the actress had any role to play. But yes Katrina does her job of looking stunning and Neha Dhupia too looks cool in her scenes.

The music by Salim Sulaimaan is quite good. You do not feel that the songs have been forcefully put in the movie. They too come in order and make you shake your legs. Only the song "Paisa Paisa Karti Hai." is a bit out of place. But the music on the whole is good and the song'Bamulaiza' is rocking. There are not too many songs in the movie so they don’t disturb the sequence of the movie and you can enjoy the songs and the movie. There is not much that can be said about the music as it will speak for itself.

However what one is just unable to forget through the movie is its counter parts that is the last two movies of Priyadarshan. This where the audience feels disappointed. We all had expected the return of the trio with a bang. There was a bang definitely but that was in the water tank which creates the last scene confusion. But there also you want to ask the director whether that bang was in the water tank or in the Pacific Ocean? So much water from a  water tank? Hard to believe. You felt you were on the sets of Titanic and not at Pan Pacific HOTEL. Priyadarshan greatly misses out on this movie when compared with Hera Pheri. One gets to believe that sequels are not as big a hit as their originals.

However for a one time view the movie is not a bad bet. I could give it an above average rating of'3'and that too only for its comedy. You can enjoy the movie without having to use your brains to understand the plot and simply chill out for 3hours.
