Before proceeding for detailed review I would like to emphasis on one point and that is “THIS Movie is not a part of HERA PHERI Series.”.Despite having Paresh Rawal, Akhshay, Sunil Shetty this is completely different movie. Typical Priyadarshan’s kind of movie,same formula with same logic and scenarios. Story is revolving around more than 30 characters,so I must admit that this is not one character centric movie.
Synopsis: As we know that ‘Money’ is the most important element of the universe and in same way in the movie. So the ‘Money’ is the main character and others are associated with them. In Parallel ,3 Stories are moving.
‘First Story’: Akshay loves Katrina and Suneil loves Sameera but the problem is neither Akshay nor Suneil has money, so their marriage is not possible. So they make a plan to kidnap Akshay’s Boss ‘Archana Puran Singh’ Doggy to get the ransom money.To get rid from Archna who is Akshay Boss and to marry their love ones both Akshay and Suneil work on the plan.
‘Second Story’ :Paresh Rawal, plays a Punjabi money-swindler “Chadha Saab”. Cops are chasing him for fraud case. He desperately needs money to pay the debts and for this he planned to chase two brides (Katrina and Sameera) for dowry.
‘Third Story’ : Shakti Kapoor, as the sleazoid, is of course chasing a prostitute and Rajpal Yadav waiter of the hotel,Asrani the Don ,Neha Duphia the Bar Dancer and Johny Leevar the Killer.
At the end in search of money they all gather at one place due to their own perception and requirement. At the story proceed with full of errors.Due to the errors all the character at certain point interacted to each other without knowing the originality and that makes it more comic.
Good Things about the Movie:
1) As I mentioned this movie can be consider as ‘Comedy of Errors’. I will give full marks to Priyadarshan for handling too many characters perfectly. No where it felt like that characters are mismatched. Properly synchronized and perfect balance between the scenes and characters.
2) Good Comedy by Akshay and Paresh Rawal. Both of them have good comic sense. Akshay facial expression and Paresh rawal’s Punjabi accent was hilarious. Even Suneil Shetty ,Asrani,Archana and Neha Duphia did good work.Katrina,Sameera ans Aditi looks beautiful but work wise average.Johny Lever works is average.
3) Perfect Comic Timing,Nice Location and proper integration of the scenes makes it hilarious.
4) Songs are neither too good nor too bad.
Bad Things about the Movie:
1) In Comparison to First Half, Second half was little bit fast. Sometime it was little bit tough to co-relate the situation and scenes.
2) ‘Chunky Pande’,’Johny Lever’ and ‘Vikram Gokhale’ characters could have more scope or could be characterized more precisely.
In a comic flick ‘Cinematography’ doesn’t play any lead role but still I can say Cinematography of the movie is quite OK.
I will rate this movie as 3/5. Don’t use your brain while watching this and don’t compare with any other flick.
Just go and enjoy ‘Comedy of errors’.
