Couch Surfed I think it was on Couchsurfing or airbnb that I found this place. A few quick emails to and fro and we chose it for a couple of nights in Delhi as it was located close to Pragati Maidan where we had to report during our stay.
Homely Though the room itself was quite exotic, to go by the decor, it felt like a home away from home. The staff looked after us well when needed but, otherwise, it was quite private and quiet.
The Room Since it is set in a house, I think that each room might be different. Ours was reached from a narrow corridor. The door opens to the bedroom which also has a sofa and table. The sofa was comfy to curl up on. There was a decorative lamp near the bed which made it easy to switch off after getting into bed. There was a nice fluffy rug at the foot of the bed which was also quite comfortable. There was a TV but we didn’t get the time to use it.
The room looked as if it had been used for some filming, as there were some metal rod-like projections from the walls, which seemed reminiscent of some studio gadgets. There were some doors which were locked and that felt a bit creepy.
Kitchen and Dining The bedroom leads to a little passage with a kitchen on one side and a bathroom on the other. This space also had seating arrangements and a fridge.
The kitchen had a gas stove but no cylinder and some vessels and some supplies: tea bags, milk powder sachets and sugar were in plenty but I felt the teabags were old. There was a white kettle but it had fungus. I'm sure that, had I complained, all these would have been replaced.
We had all our dinners here. We ordered khichdi and it was yummy. Next day, there was peas pulav. Breakfasts were also quite good.
The bathroom had a geyser and some basic toiletries(soaps, shampoo sachets and toothpaste) as well as towels.
