I know its pretty late to write a review on this film. Though I watched it on the first day, second show, I became a member of MS just a few days back :)

The Story

The film deals with six stories, but it itself lacks a proper story. It is about six friends, Sameera Reddy and co. spending a night in a jungle, because of a car breakdown. So how do they spend the boring and loooooong night? They start telling stories to each other. Six stories are spun with almost every story dealing with certain kinds of supernatural phenomenons.

  1. Sohail Khan and Antara Mali - They are this newly wed couple, who are going out somewhere in the middle of the night alone on a highway, when their car suddenly gives up. Khan gets off to check it out, while Mali stays in the car. After some time, Mali does get out only to find a missing Khan. She searches the jungle, and suddenly she sees the hand of Sohail Khan going down a quicksand, and then something strange happens.....

  2. Saif Ali Khan and Boman Irani - He is a photographer and he checks in at a motel for a one-night stay. This motel manager has a strange disliking for people who smokes. He tells Saif that he cannot smoke while he's in the motel, and to Saif's surprise, he is not even allowed to leave the motel until he quits smoking, or else...

  3. Raghuvir Yadav - He is a teacher who used to regulary beat a child for not doing her homework. And when the child started doing her homework, he got upset. He wanted to see how the child does her homework, because he believes that someone else is doing her homework, someone whom he had killed a long time ago....

  4. Shilpa Shetty and Sanjay Kapoor - Shilpa Shetty plays the role of a housewife who's scared of apples. She buys some mysterious apples from a vendor (Rajpal Yadav) and then something strange happens...

  5. Vivek Oberoi and Nana Patekar - Nana Patekar waits outside a graveyard for a ride to the city, he gets a lift from a full-of-life youngster Vivek Oberoi. He (Nana) claims to be a ghost. And then something wicked happens....

  6. Aftab Shivdasani and Isha Koppikar - The final story is that of a complex student (Aftab Shivdasani), who wants to commit suicide since he feels neglected by his family and the girl he likes (Isha Koppikar). But, one fine day, he is 'blessed' with the powers that no ordinary mortal possesses....

Review

None of the stories make sense or appear credible. Forget logical reasoning, some even lack supernatural connections (like the mysterious apple subplot). Nevertheless the unpredictability element keeps you riveted. Each story is concise, crisply edited and runs independent of the other. But alas, with six interesting stories comes one disappointing ending. The director fails to correlate the subplots with each other or with the ending, may be he wanted it that way. The movie thrills more than scaring. Usage of hand-held camera in most sequences gives the film a realistic feel. Not only sound effects but even silent moments are used effectively to add to the impact.

Performance

The performances of each and every one is worth mentioning. Right from Sohail Khan to Aftab, everyone's performance went into making it a better film.

Good Points

The six stories, espescially the Sohail-Antara and Vivek-Nana were great.

Camera effects and sound effects makes it more thrilling.

Not so good points

The main story... it had neither a beginning nor an ending

Final Thought ....oops did I say thought??

The lesser you use your brains the more you would enjoy this movie. Here’s a movie that’s mindless and proud of it. Go for it, only if you are ready to leave you’re thinking faculties at home. As one of the movie promos says, Sochna Mana Hai.
