A blunder in the name of vaccination at Daffodil Nursing Home!!! I am a doctor myself and can clearly understand that there is shortage of vaccines as well as very high demand for the same. All this leads to inconvenience to the public but that is totally understandable...I know it is difficult to manage such a huge crowd...many hospitals have shut down vaccination but Daffodil is still providing vaccines which is a great plus point.
But, now let me come to the blunder part. I have got my mother vaccinated with both doses from Daffodil and I was never allowed inside the vaccination room as per the protocol. But I came to know from my mother and from other beneficiaries that at both instances of vaccination of the 2 doses, a female officer while asking the elderly beneficiaries to take off their masks for biometry would never wear a mask herself!!(I saw that with my own eyes during administration of the 1st dose) Where does this ignorance come from ??She didn't have a mask with her at all at both instances separated by 1.5 months.
In the process of vaccinating patients, you are in turn putting them at risk !! Can you imagine how much exposure this lady has herself had considering that everyday 100-150 senior citizens open their masks for biometry and in turn get in her contact and she gets in their contact too, in turn spreading infection acquired from one beneficiary to 100s of others.!! Even if she is vaccinated herself, she can still spread it to at risk population who do not have that strong an immunity. Utter ignorance and negligence that is certainly not expected of an officer posted for registration of elderly beneficiaries!! Action should be taken against her.
Only vaccines can save us but they have to be administered while maintaining all covid appropriate protocols.
