The concept of'Dish TV' is relatively new to the Indian Consumer, and when the trend was to embrace this concept it stormed me over too, while my first experience was with Airtel, which needless to say was a nightmare( I have had terrible experiences with multiple products of Airtel, may be a review later), I decided to switch to a different service provider, with a lot of skepticism and thoughts of just going back to the local cable operator, I decided to take a chance with Videocon.
I must say I have been surprised with the service in a positive manner so far. Brief Experience below:-
Channel Options:
I feel they have quite a few channels, may be higher than most other players( Certainly the highest HD channels), this gives me enough choices to choose from.
Packages:
Found it to be reasonable for the number of channels on offer, especially the HD channels, while I subscribed to the Platinum South HD package, I found lesser packages decent too in terms of cost compared to some other providers.
Layout:
Nothing fancy about the layout, which in a way is good, since not every one are expected to be savvy enough to operate a high-tech layout.
Deal- Breaker:
For me the biggest surprise has been the Customer Service, while most of their rep's are poor in terms of communication, the problem gets solved within the stipulated time-lines, a promise of 12 Hrs is usually 12 hrs and not 12 days!, I also found the technicians to be quite professional in terms of the approach, a long way to go to make it world-class but certainly good and satisfying.
Overall, I must say this has been one of the better decisions in spending money for a service.
