Honest review, meaning of "CON" in VideoCON!

I have been using Videocon d2h for a few months now, initially I was very happy with the service and even the remote, as it was still a new product then. But after a couple of months, everything started to give up! At the slightest hint of clouds, I would lose the signal! The picture quality for Standard Definition


is quite bad compared to DishTV at my parents' place or any other service provider I have seen. The set-top box keeps upgrading software and then starts freezing and picture doesn't play smoothly, it plays in sudden jerks. I used to always recharge monthly, so a week before due date, a big white bar appears


covering lower half of TV the screen trying to "scare" me about the ending subscription and asking me to recharge immediately! It goes away by pressing the "X" button on the remote, but appears right back in like 5 mins! My god thats so annoying! How can anybody watch anything when that happens! As if that was not painful enough, people call up all the time demanding to know "When am I going to recharge?"! This is ridiculous! It boils my blood when they think that we have no


other goal in life but to keep recharging Videcon d2h and keep answering their spam calls!


Also, after the recent update from TRAI to choose our desired pack, things have been a mess! Unfortunately, I had recharged for 4 months by mistake and now they have put some default pack charging me more! I have not been able to login to my account inspite of using the same password as before. They have made it impossible to reset the password and I'm not getting the OTP or ANY communication on my mobile! I cant choose the pack I need as I cannot login. I have written


atleast 10 emails and made about the same number of calls but nobody bothers. My complaint is pending since end of February! When I ask they CC rep why its not being resolved, they casually say that its with their "back end team". Their work is just to take the complaint and they cant do anything more! Can you believe that! And now, the picture is stuck on d2h logo and wont respond at all. They want to send a technician and charge me again, which I'm ok with as I cant watch anything, but nobody has come in over a week! So I'm not watching any TV, but I'm filling their pockets daily!


To summarize, if you do a little searching on the internet, you will know that all these are very common problems with most customers and you would be wise to run the other direction if you see Videocon d2h anywhere!
