K plus e = Crossword . Review on Crossword - Pune

Name sounds like a puzzle? Yes, it's a kind of one to keep readers engaged in one of or other section of books. So, what is k plus e making it Crossword ? Simple, K for knowledge and e for entertainment !!! May be you wish to shop or just entertain yourself by window shopping. Though I am not bookworm, as I could observe keeps crowd of various ages entertained for hours together. I too forget to notice my wristwatch when I am with Crossword.

In Pune, we have Crossword shops, as per my knowledge goes at Sohrab hall, near Pune Railway Station, then on Jangli Maharaj Road, next to Mc Donald (which is diagonally opp. Khyber restau...hey, you may read my review on Khyber too). We come across Crossword outlets at multiplexes too, which keeps me occupied during boring wait before movies.

I first came across the Crossword bookstore at Jangli Maharaj Rd., to purchase autobiography of Raj Kapoor for my daughter. It was not in their stock, so computer operator after searching their database, had to phone Sohrab Hall and told us to leave ph.no. to make us convenient to collect the copy during next visit for sure.

There is wide range of sections e.g. autobiographies, management, technical, childrens' story books, music audio/videos( with old/new cd/casettes), movies (old/new/ all time fav.like subcategories), new arrivals and so on. Just get into Crossword and you will feel you are in different world. It is literally manual surfing rather swimming in the ocean of colourful paper books. Yes, it's different experience than being on internet googling some keyword or being with Mouthshut reading, rating, commenting reviews.

Before I forget, I must tell you, they have kept small sittings near individual sections which makes searching the desired book more easy. Small table chair too is kept (library style) if one wishes just to go through more contents of books, instead of purchasing the books. Isn't it great advantage for readers ?

I hope, many of our MS members know this bookstore though I am lucky to be first to write on it. If you are yet to visit, and if this much information makes you visit Crossword, I will be satisfied that my purpose of writing is achieved. So, don't keep fingures crossed, just go ahead, ''Knowledge is Power'' !!
