It’s really difficult to understand why Cross Roads like service providers are cheating innocent customers for so long. Either I have a bad luck or I am an ordinary victim who is just paying and taking pain and frustration in the name of services.
A Cross Roads sales executive visited my office around a month ago and one of my colleagues was procuring its services. He also suggested me to have a breakdown service as bad time comes without any prior information. I also thought, having a breakdown service is a peace of mind especially when there is no quick support available at odd hours.
I went through their promotion brochure and got impressed the very first line written on the brochure- “Those who understand the value of being safe and secure surely deserve to be with the best. At Cross RoadsTM, we guarantee your Sense of Security while driving.” I was impressed with their statement but was unaware that it was just a marketing punch to lure you to invest money, and when you will come across the truth it will be too late.
I paid Rs 365 to sales executive and purchased one year mental peace in the form of their services on 8th May, 12 and pasted their sticker on the wind screen of my car. Before starting my car everyday in the morning, I used to look at the cross roads sticker to have a sense of safety and support. I was not aware that I was expecting sense of support from senseless and careless service provider with whom you are not at all safe and secure.
On 25th May, 12 I was coming back from office and as soon I touched NH-24 near Noida crossing my car broke down and engine stopped; It was 9:30 pm. I tried to start engine 8-10 times but no result; it made me perturbed. I was getting perspired and cleaning my forehead that at a sudden a smile came on my face and I said, ‘’ you moron call Cross Roads, why have you purchased this service?” I took out my cell phone and I dialed 011 - 4709-0909 and my call redirected to an automated caller machine that persuaded me to stay on line and a representative will attend my call soon. I was on the call for 5 minutes 9 seconds but it was just ringing tring tring….tring tring. I didn’t lose the hope and dialed another number given for specially Airtel customer but same result, automated voice and then tring tring….tring tring.
I tried 5-6 times on both the given numbers and there was no result. Feeling of being secured and safe was blown off with my sweat… suddenly I started feeling insecure and unsafe. Another common man cheated and being victimized of false commitments.
Finally I called up one of my friends who helped my towing my car using his car and parked it in a garage at 10:30 pm in Indirapuram, Ghaziabad. Technician at the garage took just 10 minutes to fix it and replaced a fuse. Engine was on to go.
I started driving back home but was feeling very low. I was disappointed and was thinking why such service providers make us fool. If I wouldn’t have a friend nearby I might have been struggling. And what is the point to take a service which is not available even you pay your heard earned money to avail it. Having or not having such services doesn’t make a difference.
Readers, it is suggested to be careful while buying such services. We can only takeout our frustration and warn others to stay out of it.
