Cricket is fun

S the Indian Cricket team a bunch of spoiled brats or over hyped or

does mafia held lot?  One cannot imagine the so called crocodile tears

that these guy shed.  Ever imagined a common Indian

who has to slog through his life to make ends meet.  And when he

retires there is still not much hope that he can lead a decent life.

While on the other hand, a cricketer who has reached Ranji Trophy stage

gets small endorsements, secure jobs and moving up to national squad,

he is pampered with huge advertisements revenue, free housing sites,

high profile jobs, all sorts of freebys, acting rights etc. and after

retirement, bright chances of being a coach or a manager, or a

comentator. There are benefit matches that are to his credit.  And what

does he do in return? Play.  Winning matches is more often controlled

by the underworld.  Do not play well, it really does not

matter.  Indian memory is too short and within a matter of weeks all is

forgiven.  Does the gullible public know what is the behind the

scenes?  Who are the real directors and what roles does the actor need

to play on the ground?

Dear

Readers do give a thought and let us not stand up to these tricks let

us treat these cricketers as no more than normal Indians.  Let us

deflate their ego and bring them to ground level.  Cricket should be a

pass-time and not the end.  There is more to life than cricket.  At the

end, each of us is an individual by ourselves and let not cricket

effect the way we lead life.  It is painful to read that cricket has

claimed lives, which would have left the family without a father,

husband, son and a brother.  Will any of the players really know the

harm they are causing?  Would they care to donate part of their

wealth to these bereaved families? Would they care? Can the lives lost

because of cricket really worth the cause? Will Indian Government stop

debating cricket in the Parliment?  Will the underworld stop the

betting? Can we unite?
