Here I am going to write my experience and ongoing battle against Country Vacation fraud.
Complaint Summary:
I got a promotional call from random call Center stating that I have won some gift hamper from them and
asked me to come and collect.
When I went there, it was country Vacation office; they gave me a one hour presentation stating benefits of Country Vacation membership. Initially I refused as they were charging quite a large amount as fees and decided to leave, but then the manager started showing me
credentials like –
They are approved by Govt. body for tourism AIRDA.
They have close tie up with HDFC and can provide me easy EMI option with Zero Percent Processing Fees And some more extended benefits of using their clubs like we can avail a week holiday for ten years free of cost at any of the club hotels or the affiliated hotels and free life time membership of the club.
(After enquiring for booking they told that there is a maintenance charge of Rs. 8500 per year which is required to pay before booking)
• All the clubs owned or associated with country club are 5 star and above.(When I read the reviews of their club on tripadvisor.co.in, these are not even 3 star).
• Free car pickup from airport/Train station to the hotel and free car drop from the hotel to the airport and railway station.(Customer care now says there is no such facility).
• Free life time membership of the club which includes free massages and Jacuzzi along with the free usage of sports room.
• Free couple passes to the events such as new year eve, valentine’s day, Deepavali, dasara etc.(I have never received any pass from country club till date).
• Free hosting of personal events such as birthday, marriage days and other such occasions in their club.
• If the club is not present at any of the international location where we choose to go, club will arrange for the accommodation at a nominal fee of 100USD.(When I called the customer care they told there is no such facility).
• Along with the 10 years holiday plan we will receive one more holiday voucher using which we can stay in their resorts in Thailand, Indonesia and Sri Lanka.(Indonesia and Sri Lanka properties are not present in their booking list)
Still I was not prepared and not convinced and as I decided to leave they offered me one additional package with there 10 years Club membership.
In this package they promised me to offer 7 day all inclusive(Food/Beverages, 5 Star Accommodation, Air Fare and Scuba Diving) Andaman & Nicobar trip for 2 person. They told me that this is a customize deal which is they are offering me as their special Dashara Sale.
I asked for a written proof for this and then he said our HeadOffice is in Hyderabad and they will send me the agreement and package detail in welcome kit at my residential address.
Believing there claim I agreed to pay Rs. 101000 INR by my Citibank credit card which they said will be converted to 24 EMIs and Processing Fee will be revert to my account and No interest will be charged.
Almost after 10 days and after my several followups I got the welcome kit delivered and to my surprise there was no mention of Andaman Package and other facilities as they promised.
When I got my credit card statement and it is reflecting EMI plus Interest, You have promised me Interest free EMIs While selling which is not in effect here.
Viman Nagar staff and Pune Customer care, even their Hyderabad office choose to be ignorant and not entertaining my calls and mails.
I am non left with no option but to file an FIR against Country Club, his president Mr. Reddy and sales team and go legal against this fraud.
I request whosoever is reading this post please beware of this fraudsters and protect your money.
