Story:

This book always reminds me of a poem I once read.

Although I've forgotten the name of the poet, I remember the poem very well.

It goes something like this -

''I was made like the anvil solid, I can take the blows as they come

But the hammer must reel, To my tempered steel

I will be here, when the hammers are done''

This is an ode to the indomitable human spirit. the ability to come back even after the most serious of setback.

Of course one needs something to spur this spirit on. and nothing can be better in this than the need for revenge.

Of course, revenge is not considered to be the most admirable of human traits.

But the way monsieur dumas narrates the tale, all of us will start rooting for the hero. Falling into the deepest well of despair as he is crushed by fate and injustice. Feel a rising sense of hope as he sees a way out. And getting the grim sense of satisfaction when he gets his revenge.

Because all of us, are after all human. And love a delicious sense of revenge, served cold.

And that is why, this is a book that everybody loves. You will too. So I recommend that you go ahead and buy it.

And I can guarantee you that you will thank me for this advice.
