Review : Mulk raj Anand's 'coolie ' gives a chilling picture of a down trodden boy munno who at his early stage gets into oblivion of his own existence. He could feel the itch of an orphan and Anand could rightly give a heart throbbing description of his mental state and his all activities in a unique way.
The book holds oneself to the way the life of munno takes on from his home in village to a role as a servant in a babu house, as a factory worker and as a rickshaw driver....finally his suffering to death.
There are countless such human existence we see in our day to day affairs but we overlook them for our struggle to meet materialistic gains.
It makes us to think for a while about their lives who just seek only a decent living.........
Mulk raj Anand's 'Untouchable' is also worth reading.
