Yet again I am considering how to best upgrade my machine on a limited budget. As far as I am concerned there is only one magazine worth buying when doing research for such a project and that magazine goes by the name of Computer Shopper. One major factor in my opinion of this magazine is the quality of information that you the reader will be the recipient of. It is always objective, to the point and these qualities make it easy to understand 95 per cent of the articles written.

Like any decent publication there are articles that a little beyond most of us and it these that make up the remainder of the magazine however they are ideal for all you techies out there. The reviews are very competently written so much so that over the last 5 years I have bought two complete systems from recommendations made by this magazine. The latest products get a thorough testing in the Computer Shopper labs which allows for the objectiveness of the product reviews. It normally takes me ten days of casual reading to work my way through this magazine which again is a testimonial to its value. I have to say that there is a fair chunk of advertising in the magazine which sometimes is frustrating, however they do help you keep up with the latest pricing trends in the PC market as a whole. It also helps with the phone bill (if you buy components online) as it enables you to identify specific products and the web address of the company selling them.

This magazine definitely has what it takes to service all your requirements for news, reviews and just general information about compter components or systems. Go out and buy a copy today as it will be money well spent. This magazine costs £2.75 (sterling)
