I like the taste of Coke better as compared to a Pepsi, though Thums Up is still my preferred cola drink. I find a Coke better because it is definitely stronger than a Pepsi. A Pepsi in comparison is too sweet while Coke is bitter sweet. Coke goes well with any kind of food and especially well with oily and fast foods.
Taste apart, I personally am not in favour of an aerated drink because they all have a low pH value indicating acidic content. For non-chemistry students, pH value measures the acidic nature of a liquid. A grading under 7 indicates the acidic nature. The lower the grading, the greater is the acidic nature. A grading above 7 indicates alkaline nature and 7 itself is neutral. I was shocked to know that the pH value of Coke is 3.4 which indicates highly acidic nature. This implies that high consumption of coke could affect the bones and the teeth. It could also affect the digestive tract and the liver as well as cause acidity and ulcers, if consumed on an empty stomach.
I therefore have stopped consuming any kind of aerated drink, though we get a free supply at our office during lunch hours.
