Ever since I was a little girl I have drank coke. To me this is one of the most refreshing drinks one can have in the summer.
There is no other taste like it. It's unique in it's own way. You can tell the difference between coke and Pepsi. Coke is light and refreshing with just the right amount of carbonation and not too sweet. Pepsi on the other hand taste like moldy swamp water with too much sugar to mask the taste.
Coca-Cola was invented in May 1886 by Dr. John S. Pemberton in Atlanta, Georgia. The name ''Coca-Cola'' was suggested by Dr. Pemberton's bookkeeper, Frank Robinson. He wrote the name Coca-Cola in the wavy script that is famous today. Coca-Cola was first sold at a soda fountain in Jacob's Pharmacy in Atlanta, Georgia by Willis Venable. It is said that the original formula of Coca-Cola had cocaine in it and that is what produced the wonderful feeling after consuming.
Now, I don't know if that is true or not but the formula they use today does not have that in it. It's nothing but pure refreshment.
Coca-Cola comes in cans, bottle, 1 litre bottles, and 2 litre bottles.
When my children have had bad tummy aches my doctors have said to open a bottle of Coca-Cola and let it go flat and let the child drink to help calm an upset stomach. You used to be able to get just Coca-Cola syrup from your local drugstore for this.
When cooking a ham you can pour the Coca-Cola over the ham and have a wonderfully delicious and tender ham. I have also used Coca-Cola to bake cakes with. Makes for a nice, rich moist cake.
Coca-Cola is a great refreshing drink all year round and great for cooking with also.
Thanks for reading.
