I'd like to teach the world to sing

In perfect harmony.

I'd like to buy the world a Coke

And keep it company

Was the jingle of ?80s

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My nephew always heads towards the fridge whenever a bottle of Coke is kept inside. Wonder what attracts him to it? He literally craves for it.
So I told him a cooked up story (just like the one my mummy used to when I was a small girl)
Once upon a time in the colorful land of the hills n rivers lived our little Prince.
He wonders, ?What is that red colored water that is kept well out of my reach in the refrigerator??
One day he sees Swaroopa bai quickly open the fridge and take a gulp of this liquid and thinks to himself ?She seems to be enjoying this!?
In the afternoons whenever Ramu Kaka comes in to deliver the letters he humbly requests Mom for that colored water again.
He has even seen Jaggu Dada and other street kids have bottles of this liquid near the Store.
Then he asks his daddy?Y can?t I have this colored water, everyone apart from me are enjoying this??
Daddy says, ?Beta, this is not good for your health. If you drink this your teeth would fall off, your bones would crack and your stomach would develop ulcers.?
The next day therez a party at home and he sees daddy, mummy and others enjoy drinking this.
The boy grows up and goes to the land of opportunities (u all know that land too well).
Wherever he goes to eat there seems to be a dearth of water but the red colored liquid called Coke is available in plenty.
So he gets hooked on to it. Soon his medical bills soar up with all kinds of ailments like stomach and kidney ulcers, tooth decay etc.
He meets up with the doc and questions as to what went wrong:
-Doctor, is it true that I?m suffering because of drinking Coke?
Doc: Tell me how many cokes you have per day
-Lemme count- 1 in the morning, 1 at the 10 o break, 1 in the afternoon with lunch, 1 at 4 o break and one with dinner. (that makes 5)
Doc: and u expect not to have any ailments!!!
End of kiddo story -not unlike the urban legends on the Internet, which serves itz purpose (to frighten people)
A brief history of Coca Cola:
In Atlanta in 1886, Dr John Pemberton ? a pharmacist, developed a concussion of cocoa leaf extracts hoping to find an effective remedy against tiredness. Though it did not become a medicinal remedy it became the world?s largest selling refreshment drink.
Frank M. Robinson, a friend of the doctor, suggested the name ''Coca-Cola''.
People started calling Coca-Cola ''Coke? and by 1900 it became the most popular drink in the US.
The factual Analysis:
· Carbonated Water
· High Fructose Corn Syrup
· Caramel Color
· Phosphoric Acid
· Natural Flavors
· Caffeine
Prolonged and too much of Coke might cause the following:
300ml of Coke contains about 30ml caffeine whereas a cup of coffee and tea contain (anywhere between 40ml-100ml)
Caffeine would cause migraine headaches, tremors, anxiety, insomnia etc·
People with the rare hereditary condition called phenylketonuria (PKU) should restrict or avoid ingestion of the amino acid phenylalanine, which is found in aspartame,found in some flavours of Coke.
Caramel and Corn syrup contain sugars and hence have strong drug-like effects in some people. Sugar can give you a rush of energy, followed by a metabolic crash soon after. This cycle is extremely disruptive to the body's energy cycle and can trigger disturbing mood swings. Sugar is also bad for your teeth and can aggravate health problems (such as some kinds of asthma and arthritis), raise the level of blood fats
Carbonation has effects on the gastrointestinal tract and irritation in the oesophagus.
While taking too much of any kind of soft drinks like Coke is harmful to health, it is ok to gulp it down once in a while to refresh yourself esp. during summers.
(Statutory Warning:
This is about Coke in general and not about the ones containing pesticides.)
