Hello Friends, I would like to share my experience (worst) of CitiBank Credit Card.
I got the Credit Card completely free when I opened a Premium Savings Account in Citibank, I was happy when I recd., as I had not submitted any Income documents nor any verification was done. I was told that it is free to all Savings Account Holders, The Limit is only 11,000.00 and the critiria of my savings account was to maintain Rs. 10,000.00 in my account.
I started using the Credit Card, first month I spended Rs. 2400.00 on my card, and I recd. my statement, I was surprised to see in my statement that I had opted for Mediclaim, Mobile Alert, Surakhsha Insurance Premium and all the extra stuff. Although I pay my dues by cheque. I made a mistake by paying much before the due date.
Then I recd. another statement next month, and I was shocked to see, the late payment charges, of my last month due. I called Citi help line to verify about where was my cheque, the reply I got was really shoking.
I told the lady that I had paid my cheque on 1st of that month and the due date of my bill was 12th of that month. I was asked where did I deposit my cheque, I replied : in the ATM drop box. I got the reply that even though u had paid on 1st we had not recd. ur cheque uptill ur due date, we recd. after ur due date. I told that I was not responsible for the delay, I have the proof that I had issued a cheque on 1st. The operator told me to hold the phone, I waited for 20 mins, then I hangup that operator didn't reply.
I still was positive, I thought that it will ne a mistake, as it was a matter of only 300 Rs. more, but then it happen again and that also two times.
I still have a Credit Card, but now I dont use it, only pays. The Payment due on my card is recently Rs. 8500.00, out of which I had actually spended only Rs. 3000.00. the remaining are late payment charges, Interest Charges, Suraksha Premium, Mobile Alerts, Mediclaim Premium etc. etc...
Never ever go for CITI Bank (For anything)
