Hi,
Beware of following points before taking admission at SoET.
I wish to bring to your attention some concerns I have regarding the academic and administrative environment at Christ School of Engineering and Technology (SoET). I have observed certain issues within the institution that I believe require your attention.
At the outset, it appears that there are challenges within the School of Engineering and Technology, particularly with the Dean's leadership style. It is my observation that the Dean may come across as self-aggrandizing, but with limited substance in terms of expertise.
Let’s talk about CSE: So called biggest Department with most unfit faculty and HoD.
The new HoD of CSE is an egoist as much as the old Dean who talks of innovation but doesn’t have any innovation in himself. The way she spoke in class clearly shows us that she least value contribution of the previous leader. She says now I am going to bring change. She just wants to bring change but not able to change teachers who are not able to communicate or teach even the basics.
They claim DS and AI ML but actually it is core computer science and 20 year old syllabus content with new packaging of fancy names. DS and AI ML has sprinkle of basics. Which will never help students.
Additionally, there seems to be a faculty in the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) Department who is engaged in activities unrelated to teaching and research that is dance and showoff of her feminism to impress Dean but it raises concerns as the classes are big zero not only that the students are here to study not to look her figure. That she can show to Dean, and Other guest as she is doing.
Moving on to the Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) Department, there are claims of a lack of innovation and the exaggeration of an Antenna lab as a significant asset. Furthermore, the offering of AI and ML without proper specialization seems to be misleading to both faculty and students. The Head of Department (HoD) in ECE is also criticized for lacking dynamic leadership skills and not fulfilling the role of a faculty member effectively.
In contrast, the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) seems to be flourishing under the leadership of Dr. Joseph. He is commended for his respectful and humble demeanor, which is appreciated by students.
On a positive note, the new Director is seen as an improvement over the previous one. However, concerns persist about the Dean's behavior, which is perceived as disrespectful and dominating. This may have negative implications for the institution's reputation if not addressed.
I hope that as the new Vice-Chancellor, you will consider these issues seriously. As students, we are the customers of this institution, and we hope for an educational environment that fosters growth and respect. We believe that your intervention is crucial to ensuring the continued success and relevance of engineering education at Christ.
