Since this product didn't appear in the list, this seemed to be my only option for posting a review on it. Bajaj Majesty DHX9 Heavy Weight Dry Iron.
Purchased on Snapdeal
Price: Rs 809( free shipping)
Pros:
Heavy, which makes it more effective.
Heats up quickly.
Multiple temperature settings( cotton setting provides very high heat) .
Indicator light.
Ample cord length.
Very effective at only 750 watts.
Cons:
I hate Teflon and this eflon coating looks especially cheap and questionable. I expect it to flake off before long, so I'll be using a thin towel to protect my clothes, just in case and WHY put Teflon on an iron? Do they expect me to cook rotis on it? This is an Indian phenomenon. The irons I used in China and U.S. were made of much better materials and NO teflon!
It seems all Indian companies are obsessed with putting this crap on their irons, so no escaping it unless I pay out the nose to import something of higher quality. The plastic parts feel cheap and delicate. The price is exorbitant for an Indian brand. Bajaj is treating the standard, electric dry iron like an exotic luxury. The problem is that after researching everything available in this country for under 1000 rupees, this brand/model appears to be the lesser evil.
In civilized countries you can get a heavy, effective iron for half the price Bajaj is charging for this model, and without this unnecessary crap called Teflon!
