Crompton greaves emergency light. Review on Choosing an Emergency Light

I bought Crompton greaves emergency light 6 months back. for a price of 1150 in hyderabad .

I saw electron, BPL, ORPAT etc. Finally I picked this bcoz charging time is less when compared with other models. Came to know that BPL and Crompton greaves are leaders in Hyderabad . I dont know abt other areas. I have checked the backup time during my 1st 2 usages..Its very good that I got more than 5 hours backup as mentioned in specifiations.

*Specs:

*MRP : 1445 ( I got it for 1150/- )

Recharging time : 10-15 hours (when recharged for 15 hrs I got a backup of 5 1/2 hrs)

Operating time : 5 hrs -bright mode ( I have checked this backup time twice & surprisingly got 5 1/2 hours in the first month..didnt get a chance to check recently to confirm after 6 months of usage)

Also, brightness is very much satisfactory

Tubes : 11 W CFL lamp (single tube)( There is one Crompton greaves double tube model which gives 7 hrs backup if we use single tube & 5 hrs if we use both tubes according to brochure But its not available in Hyderabad .was told that company stopped production of that model)

Switch : 3 stage slide switch

Others : Over discharge and over charge protection (i dont know anything abt this)

: Auto light up

Battery : Yuasa

CFL : OSRAM

Finally, 1100-1150 is ok . But some shoppers demanded 1300 which is mere waste.

If one cant get @ this in ur area or cant get this @ this price, BPL is also good as far as I know.

Note: My light is giving a backup of 4 hours only after using it for 6 months. contrary to 5 1/2 hours in the beginning.Can anyone tell me an emergency light which give more than 5 hrs backup consistently.
