IFB - Diva Washing Machine
Jun 14, 2006 08:53 PM 38227 Views

Few months back I was actively looking for buying a washing machine, and so I did a lot of research on this. I didn't want to spend time in washing, transferring clothes from one tub to the other and all, so I decided against semi-automatic machine (although my mom's been using a Whirlpool semi-automatic for over 10 years now, without any complaint).

My major concern was whether to buy a front loader or a top loader. My sister has a Samsung top-loader fully automatic and she told me that it performed well.

I finally bought **IFB Diva front loading 5kg fully automatic washing machine for Rs.12, 600/- directly from the IFB dealer in Bangalore (got his number through IFB call center).

All the details about the machine are available at IFB appliances website.

After using it, here are all the points in favor of the machine:

  1. Washes very well without causing any harm to the clothes

  2. I used a spoon full of vanish along with surf automatic and my dirty-white-sheets-that-looked-yellow came out absolutely white

  3. Due to tumbling action and clothes going in and out of water - all the stains are removed effectively

  4. I use the gentle cycle which goes on for an hour and cleans well

  5. The only difference between this model and the next IFB model Elena priced 15k, was a on-off switch.

  6. The machine doesn't vibrate much and makes whirring noise only while doing the final spin.

  7. The clothes also dry well in this machine

  8. Easy to use single knob for wash programs

The dealer told us that all IFB machines have same motors/body/parts etc., so no point in spending money on a higher model. I highly recommend IFB Diva as it is cheapest available and and performs well without much efforts.
