Any city in China is more or less like cities in India (Like Pune, Bangalore etc) . but only difference is infrastructure . Lot of cars, bikes, bicycles, and people :-) but all well maintained and follow traffic rules.
I hate people honking here in India for no reason..... :-(
Taxi's are cheap, Costly taxis are in Shanghai , Beijing etc. Not a single Taxi driver cheats... System is not faulty :-)
Buses are good modes of transport, 1.20 RMB , 2 RMB will be the minimum cost of normal and AC bus. If you can read the boards, its fine. otherwise numbers like 500,520 ,491 exists. if u cant read then sign lanuguage is only way to use as its difficult to find english speaking people. Smaller children in China can speak english these days, so they r ur best hope in case of problems.

You can not beat cycles, I had long rides, typically 5-6 kms daily. a natural exercise.
thats why u dont find even single person who is fat.
People are friendly and help u .
There are many Indian restaurants in most of the major cities.
In universities u will find lot of Indian students typically , Medicos as its damn cheap to study medicine.
If u r foodie , and wanna taste some real good stuff, u need to visit local markets.
i tasted some delicious food.
Chinese burger- better than the Mcdonalds one and costs 1 RMB or 6 rs.
Chinese roti - made up of maida (wheat flour) costs 3 rs
usual chow mein and fried rice with egg or chicken. pronounced as chao miyan and chao fan
white rice like steamed rice in India .. costs 1 rs per bowl depending on quality.
the animal eaters have lot of choice in seekhs and small animal section. I hated that.
Living is not costly typically compared to any Indian city.
I think people understand and cooperate, instead of findling faults they do there job and do it well.
