Chequemail ---- Just to find it Empty. Review on Chequemail

It all started with the year before last when I first read about https://chequemail.com in the Times Computing (Compliment of Times of India)

The catch that attracted me to their clumsy service was that they would pay users by cheque for logging into their service at least 30 times a month. Three times was to be the maximum number of logins one could make in a day to make it 30 in ten days if the user wished to do so. Cheques were to be dispatched Quarterly (Every 3 months).

It was not long enough before I signed up for the service and keeping the rules in mind, logged in 30 times a month. This went on for over 3 months and finally on the site when I checked if I'm eligible for cheque for that quarter, I WAS!!! later after another month, I found out that due to some problems, the dispatch of cheques was delayed and were on their way. One fine day then, I heaved a sigh of relief when I DID find an envelope from Chequemail in my mail. When I opened it there was a cheque in it, but OHH NOOOOO, there was something WRONG!!!! No, my name on the cheque was perfect, BUT.....ooh..uhh, the amount on the cheque was a mere Rs.50/- YES, RUPEES FIFTY ONLY!!!!! That smiley expression on my face suddenly turned the other way round. I wondered, but HOW???? Then I read another slip on which it was said...Congratulations, this is your first Cheque from Chequemail bla...bla...blaaaa.... At the bottom was the hisaab or summary as to which months I was paid for. Those idiots didnt count the first two months at all!!! I then found that my Best Friend, who was also a member of Chequemail was in the same boat as me, even he got Rs.50/- as total for his first 3 months Instead of Rs.150/-.

Not losing hope, we very loyally did our 30 times a month for the next 3 months also. Not till was it almost 6 months was I fed up and gave up with the service as the cheques just DID NOT come again! In fact, I was foolish to waste precious time at home only to increase the bills that time.

I still have not got my cheques, but when I went through reviews at https://mouthshut.com about chequemail, I was reminded again of the site. Remembering the old times when I loyally checked mails on the site 3 times a day, I thought, why not have a look at the site again and see any changes, and above all if my mail account with chequemail still existed. But WHOA!!!!! forget the mail account, the SITE ITSELF was not there!!!! And it still is not there. What they owed to us, so cleanly they grabbed and escaped. I just read in someone else's review, everyday, the number of users registering at chequemail was increasing by a thousand. We may forget this as a small amount, but having cheating so many lakhs of people of their few months money, the people at chequemail have made their buck.
