CAPSULE- E.B. White’s cinematic version of the famed and best selling children’s book, "Charlotte’s Web" is an accomplishment, and has been hailed by the critics as the best family movie of the year. Moviegoers are certainly in for a treat when they see this wonderfully done motion picture.
My memories of "Charlottes Web" are dear because of my many fond memories of grade school and the days that surrounded my tideous work on a book report of "Charlotte’s Web". I found the narration by Sam Shepard to be very well done keeping the viewer alert to the sequential events in the movie.
"Charlottes Web" in an enjoyable motion picture because of its heart warning and rare storyline that gracefully depicts the family along with the funny antics of a cute little childlike pig who fears his fate of getting killed at the slaughterhouse. The characters in this story are a little girl, a pig, and a spider that brings this movie to a heartfelt storyline that all audiences will enjoy.
In this movie, young Dakota Fanning portrays Fern a little girl who convinces her father not to slaughter a piglet she has befriended. Her father has made this decision because there are too many pigs in the house. He finds a better solution for this little piglet when he sends it to the farm of Mr. Arable. (Kevin Anderson-Carry Me Hone). When the little piglet is sent to Mr. Arable’s farm the friendship between Fern, and now Wilbur, the pig turns into a bounding and loving friendship. Wilbur now a talking pig adapts to his new surrounds of other animals that talks to.
However, Wilbur still face a possible date at the slaughterhouse by his new owner Mr. Arable. Later Wilbur meets Charlotte, the spider their friendship is very special because Charlotte has some magical wit in stored for her new friend Wilbur that will save his life.
Wilbur becomes the town’s phenomena when the towns people see a strange sighting of a spider web that’s been engraved in the web leaving the words “SOME PIG” as time pass they see more engravings like this engraving in the spider web. Later, Wilbur enters the towns contest. What happens next? Will Wilbur win this contest? Will he live, and see his first snow? What happens to Charlotte, the spider?
" Charlotte’s Webb" is a very good warm and heartfelt animated family movie that you’ll enjoy and appreciate. Audiences will enjoy its humorous flaura and fauna comedic scenery of talking animals, and the warm bond between a little girl, and a host barn animals. This 2006 release of "Charottes Web" brings on a bundle of well done, and entertaining computer technology designed for attractive special effects. The vocal cast of actors including the voices of Oprah Winfrey, and Julia Roberts display an array of talent as well. Overall "Charlotte's Webb" is worth watching.
