This is one of the remarkable movies in the history of Bollywood, I am sure that you all MS’Ians agree to that.
By writing this review I may not be in a position towards the expressing my feelings and how good the movie is, you need to really see the movie.
The film is so simple and humble. This is a great piece of real life incidents.
This is a brilliant movie added by talents of Tabu and Madhur Bhandarkar.
This is the story of a Bar dancer; she was not born to do that. She had everything in life until those bad things happened. This is the story of those who are victims of war and riots. They lose everything in life. Some their beloved ones and some their own life.
Here MUMTAZ is a victim of the riots that always happen in the Third World Nations. Her uncle takes her care and they land up in Mumbai a land where you can’t stay without money. Her uncle is good to her and seeks her a job in CHANDINI BAR, a beer bar, as a dancer for a short time. The scenes are so touching and real to be true. She meets her colleagues who all have their stories to say. Now the greed and lust plays an upper hand. Mumtaz lose every valuable possession a woman wishes not to.
Then it all pain and agony she meets her man in life, which adds two more burdens in life and is killed in an encounter. She lives to take care of her kids. There also she faces so many hardships because of the society and people looking at her with those evil eyes.
The climax is so well done her daughter lands in the same CHANDINI BAR, as a dancer and son becomes another goon by the incidents in life.
Madhur’s done an excellent job in this movie and combines the skills of the dark and the evil. Each frame of this movie speaks about the brilliance and supremacy over the script. There are some scenes, which makes you think what if it had happened to your dear ones. I am in fully sunk with this movie and this is one of the best touching movies I have seen in my life.
TABU is worth praise with the entire natural acting and talent. She shows all the glory of a great actress. She is done an excellent job in the role of Mumtaz and I am taken back in the way its depicted.
She is seen so good to accept all the bitterness in life and take it up without a fight. I am sure this won’t be the case in real life, there will be some resistance if it happens to you or me.
This is a movie you should watch and should act against these happenings if it happens in your neighborhood.
After all they are human beings who landed up they’re because of the bitter happenings in the lif
