If you have no work then take a long sleep under your blanket but dont waste your pocket money over this movie. even if you do not mind spending some bucks for Shahid Kapoor then I would request you to spend it on me and I would actually give you some better performances.
The movie would not have an intriguing story was understandable from its trailors. but still, I thought it would have some fun-filled and sugary sweet plot for teenagers and young kids to flock-in to the theatres. but to my dismay it was a hotch-potch of too many plots togther making the movie a total bore.
Our hero, Sameer(Shahid Kapoor) is a passionate young struggling actor who aspires to have a'larger than life' lifestyle by becoming a super star and thereby, bring an end to all the debts, financial crunches and abuses he is facing in his day-to-day life. Inspite of having exorbitant problems related to career and money he still manages to lend his friend 18k and maintain a car. however, Sameer meets the beautiful Tina, the budding choreographer in one of his auditions and instantly their chemistry begins.
Tina helps Sameer in his struggle for existence and comfortably attains the place of a woman behind a successful man. Sameer lands up teaching dance in a school as he was out of a job and money, where the kids hate dance and he hates kids. however, during his thick n thin times these kids play a major role and he too plays a major role to get them the Dance Trophy. therefore Sameer successfully srtikes a emotional relationship with the group of mischievous kids.
Finally, Sameer lands up proving himself as a actor of immense potentials in a talent-hunt contest and very rightfully claims the position of the hero under a big banner production house. and the film ends with a direct message stating that hard work blended with talent is a sure shot to success, either today or tomorrow and one should take up all opportunities coming on the way to achieve the goal coz who knows what brings him to his goal.
Though the story seemed to be good it was not good to watch because the film could neither showcase the story of a struggling actor properly nor could it demostrate dancing skills of Sameer as a teacher in a full scale. somehow in order to punch both the stories it got lost half way. Moroever, the greatest disappointment was the casual use of a talented actor like Shahid Kapoor. neither his dancing skills were made to use fully nor he got the right script to try out some acting. the script and the comedy added to the script were atrocious. the kids were cute and could have been potrayed more during the chemistry with their dance teacher. Genelia was sweet and bubbly fitting well in the shoes of Tina. the music looked dull and monotonous with the drab choreography. I was indeed very upset to find the choreography poor.
It should have been the backbone of the movie for it was a movie on dance which would be perfomed by none other than Shahid himself. there were no variations seen in any of the dance form and none of them were appealing.
So, if you are a Shahid Kapoor fan you will be highly disappointed to see how his talents have been wasted after'Kaminey' and'Jab We Met'. it was a pity to watch how an opportunity is lost for the director and the producer to work with such a great actor!
