Synopsis:

A sweet, contemporary love story of two people from totally different worlds, Chameli is presented to the modern day audience the way life actually is.

It is a love story between a man who lost his wife in a rainy night and a professional and a much hardened prostitute - Chameli. Both of them have painful memories of the rain and it is this rain that brings them together & sparks off a beautiful romance. The story revolves around both the characters since the time they are brought together on one pavement on one rainy night by 'chance'. The relationship alters their lives forever.

The performances by the actors are 'good'. Though Rahul Bose doesn't have a lot to 'speak' in the movie (he's popular about the way he delivers his lines), he has done justice to all the lines he had in the movie. His face is expressive enough to make an impact on the audience; he is as natural as anyone could be. People say he's wasted in Bollywood but probably Bollywood is in dire need of actors like him.

About Kareena Kapoor, well, she has not been a disappointment (for a change); she couldn't totally avoid over-acting in some parts though but delivered her dialogues pretty well. The role she got was definitely a dream come true for a young actress like her. She didn't fail to get into the character of a prostitute.

There are just a handful of songs in the movie - the music is simply melodious. You wouldn't mind listening to it again and again for a few weeks.

As for the movie, I think I'm going to watch it again. What the hell, it's just around 100 minutes!
