In short…
Raj (Shah Rukh Khan) is a spontaneous, hard working, a middle-class man. Priya (Rani Mukharji) is mature, practical and rich girl falls in love with each other. Then marriage and as both of them are very different in attitude, thinking and lifestyle there starts their daily quarrels about small thing due to that separation and again back to Loving mode (some copy of Raja Hindustani)
In Brief...
A group of friends discussing lives of their dearest friends, Raj (Shahrukh Khan) and Priya (Rani Mukherjee), among them, the fairy tale in reality. In this Raj a truck driver who runs his own truck driving company and meets Priya by accidentally running his truck into the back of her car. Then Raj and Priya meets again at their friend marriage, and after a day together, Priya gives Raj her number, which he manages to lose in the laundry. What follows is the Ghum Shuda song trying to find Priya once again on the same street they exchanged numbers.
Raj, after finding Priya, also realises that she has agreed to get married to her childhood friend Sameer (Jas Arora). Raj did not able to convince Priya. Priya leaves. Raj would try to win her heart by following her; he ends up on the same aeroplain, by which she is going to Italy for the marriage. Flight gets delayed due to some reason, where they get to spend some quality time together.
Here questions are in the mind such as how a middle class man with a very small transport business and who drives his own truck manages to get a ticket for going to ITALY? And moreover is getting visa so easy?
There is a scene where Rani likes a toy kept in a shop. There the hero goes to buy it but that’s not for buying it’s if u can win it in some shooting game. But he couldn’t wins. And shopkeeper says to him, ’’ hey u like the girl’’ Shahrukh says ’’ ya’’ shopkeer says, ’ ok take this’’ and he hands him the stuffed toy. If this is the kind of thing going to happen in the real life I think either shopkeeper will stop keeping toys or guess what …?
After this incidence Raj hires a car so that Priya should not get late in her marriage. Raj drives car througout the night. When their designation arrives, and it is about to be announced that Priya is getting engaged, she cannot take it and realises that Raj is for her.
She is able to convince her Mother, Father, Aunty and Sameer that she loves to Raj. then she rushes out to find Raj outside her house and declares her love to him. The families agree to get them married, and they live happily ever after. That’s how the friends end the story.
When all friends and the viewers gets to see the couple after a year has gone by their married life, you get to see that life is not that happy. Raj and Priya fights do quarrel there is what shown about their after marriage life. As both Raj and Priya are from the different lifestyle and attitude.
Raj’s transport company has to pay large amount as their major contract goes for the toss. Raj’s very much bad in need of money Priya took money from Sameer and gives it to Raj for some moment of time. This creates problem in their life again. Then they decide to separate. They start living separately. Also Priya got the some good offer from company so she plans to shift to Italy and planning to catch the flight and once again the Raj came to do emotional blackmail of the Priya and succeed then movie ends.
The plot does seem quite predictable at many times. Shahrukh does his best, the boy next door, and Rani Mukherjee also excels, from a rich self-minded girl to a low class housewife.
Overall this is an entertainer for the family and traditional bollywood fans, but after witnessing Saathiya, this does seem very less a comedy and good in emotional department throughout.
In my view If you have seen Sathiya and Raja Hindustani then do not see this one only situation are different theme is same. In first half, film is fast paced (copy of Satiya theme); you enjoy every minute of it, second half though a bit slow picks up momentum in the climax (copy of Raja Hindustani).
Overall - the movie is Average and it is chalte chalte its way of becoming a hit mainly due to songs like ’Gumshuda’, ’Tauba’ and ’Suno na’. Also Rani’s acting is good
