I celebrated a "Sunday Funday" offer in Chairman's Jade Club and resort on the last weekend of 2013, which was the first one of my such kind of experiences and I , along with my colleagues enjoyed tremendously.
Here are few details about this resort:
How to get there:
It's located near Bangalore International Airport, in Sadehalli Village. From Yelahanka, one has to drive towards the airport and it comes on the left hand side. Public transports are not easily available as it's not on the main road. A personal vehicle is necessary to reach this place. It's situated at the opposite of the famous Club Cabana.
We arranged for a small get together with office colleagues to celebrate the last Sunday of the year, we all reached by our cars and two wheelers from various parts of the city. It took us two and half an hours to reach from electronic city as the way was little-know and we took help of GPS!
What does it look like:
Entering through the main gate, there is an ivy-covered entrance and ample parking space for vehicles. The lobby is quite big with nice sitting arrangements, can accommodate at least 40-50 people at a time. Reception is warm and helpful, especially Mr. Rajendra is a gem of a person. During out entire stay he took care of us very nicely.
There are two kids of dining arrangements; open air arrangements in the lawn and inside arrangements during lunch hours. The poolside sitting arrangements and sunbath chairs are always a good option to relax. There is a well-maintained swimming pool and clean changing rooms. There is a bar area which serves as dance floor also, near the dining area. The lawns provide good opportunities for kids to play around , with a trampoline and jumping castle.
We had a toddler in our group who enjoyed her entire stay running around. The indoor and outdoor game complex is a little away from the lawn but the path is very beautiful, covered overhead by creepers with flowers. There is a tennis court and a cricket arrangement on either side.Inside the complex, there is squash court, basketball, badminton and some indoor games like TT, carrom and chess.
Outside the complex there is a skating rink, paint-ball and archery facilities. We played squash and TT for long hours and liked the facilities very much as everything is well maintained and people taking care of the equipments properly. We heard that there is a gym and cottages also for longer stay but didn't venture out that much.
Lunch and snacks menu:
After a continuous drive of two and half an hours we were hungry, so immediately after reaching we searched for some food. There was a dosa counter serving fresh masala dosa, and a live chat counter on the lawn with spicy papdi chat and butter milk. The taste of each one was distinct. There was a grill counter which started serving excellent veg and chicken kababs after 12, in no time their containers kept getting empty! Around half past one, all of us started feeling hungry again after lots of physical activities.
We danced for almost half an hour (the DJ should be sent for a proper training, dude!) and played squash and badminton. Then lunch was served and the kiddo in our group almost started wailing! We savored the juicy kababs and once everybody had a good fill, we decided to take lunch. The Russian and macaroni salads were quite good, so were the veg pulao and shahi paneer. We tried some rice and rasam with papad and then the over-enthusiastic boys tried the non veg gravies. Nobody from our group liked the non-veg (mutton and fish), and finally consoled themselves with veg noodles and hot gulab jamoons with ice cream. Well, I loved the desserts very much, gulab jamoons were very soft and tasty. In the evening they served hot pakodas with tea and coffee, which was the need of the hour...after two-hours long swimming in the cold water of December-end!!
Booking Process:
We booked this Sunday -Funday activities (Welcome drink, lunch, high tea with access to all indoor and outdoor games, swimming pool and DJ) through Groupon, it charges us Rs.600 per person including all taxes. This suited all, especially the juniors who started earning recently and wanted to enjoy. This place has various offers available over the internet, one can even contact the Front Office Manager Manjunath (Ph: 9620822205) or Operations Manager Rajendra (Ph: 9620822088) for events and party bookings. This is an excellent location for team building activities amidst nature and serenity.
My overall experience was very good, I will give it 4 out of 5. The areas of improvements are quality of music and standard of non-veg gravies. Also it will be appreciated if a bigger dance floor is provided during parties and occasions.
