James Bond, known for his suave, witty one liners, pretty bond girls, cars that make you drool and gadgets beyond your imagination. This movie was certainly the worst ever Bond flick created. Pathetic story line and I'm sorry to say Mr. Craig did not play Bond as well as the previous ones. I think the only thing that kept me interested was pretty Miss Eva Green. (Ooh la la !!).
Ok, so this is what the movie is all about. The new James Bond is apparently able to outsmart his own British intelligence (rolls eyes) by gathering information about the new enemies that need to be taken down. Early in this movie he seems to defy the British Intelligence agencies by killing 2 suspects wanted alive by them. So, eventually in the end of that ordeal he has a tracking device injected into his arm so he can be traced. Now we're on a train to Montenegro, off to the casino. I might add the whole sitting in front of the gambling table and watching these morons trying to outsmart each other at a boring game of poker with high stakes slowed down the movie completely.
Just to back track a bit, the earlier suspects killed, out of which one had a very unique chase scene for a good 10 to 15 mins was amazing. The man with the scar face was so light footed and reminded me a lot of Jackie Chan's moves.
Anyway, back to the Casino. James has already lost all the money appointed him by the government and demands more money as he is sure that he can get all the money back and expose the villains who are funding terrorism. Of course in the end James gets the money back, the bad guys freak out, abduct the girl and he sets off to kill them. The car chase scene leads to his capture and he's semi-tortured while he is captive. I found that rather funny, he was captured but not tortured, must add there were a few good one liners at that point of the movie but none I haven't heard before. So he is rescued by someone else in the movie who is after the money and is kept alive? Maybe I didn't follow correctly as to why that happened.. but lets go on none the less.
He makes a recovery in the hospital and everything looks rosy for Bond. Realizing he has fallen for Eva Green, he decides to resign (how very UNBONDLY)!!! Well, the man at the Casino drops my the hospital and asks Bond to fill in his account details so he could get his winnings paid into an account. Eva types in the account number and they're off. They portray they're unbending love for each other and they're already living like husband and wife and while is Bond is off to get some supplies, Eva is off to steal all the money. Now, correct me if I'm wrong, did not another Bond girl or at least a girl 'trusted' working with Bond go bad before? So, yet it happened again. Eva also had ulterior motives but was being black mailed to steal the money. So she's off to the bank, James checks her phone and he realizes what is happening. Nice action scenes in one of the houses.
Eva plunges to her death bellow the seas, the money is recovered, Bond becomes 'cold hearted' all over again and that's the end to the movie.
This has been the most disappointing movie yet. There seriously needs to be another thought about getting Pierce Brosnan back. Bond never portrayed himself to be Mr. Macho and unromantic. The romance between Bond and Eva was rather depressing. I missed the typical Bond music throughout the movie and where were all those crazy gadgets? Seems like a really low budget film made here without any thought at all.
I'll give this movie a 5/10 because the Aston Martin used was sleek. Ha!
