Finally, there is a good restaurant in the Thakur Village area of Kandivali (where I stay)..........otherwise, the place was full of small take-away joints with no place to sit. Let me introduce you to Cascade - Village Avenue which has come up in the same building as Thakur Cinema. It has valet parking.
The place is spacious and the ambience is very good. This restaurant is a sister restaurant of ''The Avenue'' in Thakur Complex and run by the same management. However, in the Thakur Complex Avenue they do not have Italian or Mexican food (of which I am a true blue fan)..........
Here, in Cascade, they have dishes from all around the world on their menu...they have representative dishes from Italy, Thailand, Mongolia, Mexico et. They also have sizzlers which are very good. However, the food is not very authentic.........it's okay, not superlative....Still, I would go there instead of driving down the bad roads to Pop Tates (which was my choice before this restaurant came)...I like the Pop Tates Mexican and Italian food better.
Choose the sofa tables. These are more comfortable than the window tables. However, you do get a good view of the Thakur Village main road from the window tables. My favourite here is the pasta (which is made in front of you with your choice of ingredients)....The Wok Rice is also good. For dessert they make a good sizzling brownie with ice cream...haven't tried the other desserts. Also, they have a salad bar...but avoid it, not much choice and does not look too healthy.
It is full of fried stuff which is dunked in sauce... The service is okayish (everyone looks and behaves a little inexperienced). The food and drinks are expensive. A meal for 2 would cost you about 2000 bucks (with drinks and dessert). All in all, go there if you live in the Kandivli-Borivali area and if you want a choice on the menu. If you are going on a weekend, please do reserve.
This place is also good if you plan to catch a movie at Thakur Cinema. You can even couple it with shopping at D-Mart which is just across the road.
