Health Site for 50+ !. Review on Caring for Aging Parents

Decades back we were told :

''If money is lost, nothing is lost,

If health is lost, something is lost,

If character is lost, everything is lost''.

New generation young(the bold) and the beautiful ones say :

''If character is lost, nothing is lost,

If health is lost, something is lost,

If money is lost, everything is lost''.

But again, all the 50+ people do not agree to this.

On the contrary, they say :

''If character is lost, nothing is lost,

If money is lost, something is lost,

If health is lost, everything is lost''.

The Proposal :

To create an exclusive health web-site for the

benefit of people aged 50 years and above.

The Purpose :

1. To create an environment where 50+ people feel at home

and interact freely with each other.

1. To make people understand, prevent and control different

old age diseases through interaction and mutual help.

1. As an example, a Heart Patient's Association may be created

for the benefit of Coronary Heart Disease (CHD) patients.

1. Educating people on different methodologies of Therapeutic

Lifestyle Changes or TLC techniques.

1. Teaching simple but effective physical exercises and

simple Yoga asanas.

1. Discussing different Body weight control/ diet control

methods.

1. Giving information about the medicinal values/ calorie

contents of different fruits and vegetables.

1. Advising on making good habits like drinking Green Tea

which is full of anti oxidants etc.

The problems :

In general, 50+ people are allergic to computers. 99% of

internet surfers are below the age group of 50 years.

The Solution :

The younger generation should come forward and act as

the interactive media and bridge the gap between the 50+

and interaction with the P.C.

Conclusion :

It is upto the new generation as to how they

will help their elder ones specially the 50+ group

to tackle their old age problems. Teaching the elder

ones simple computer operation and or motivate them

to learn Internet Surfing could lead to great service

for the elder ones. This will not only help them

interact with other people, they wil no longer feel

lonely or left alone and suffer from un-warrented

depressions.
