Firstly, I am a professional cameraman and I usually shoot pictures for country's highly esteemed newspapers.
I bought this camera for my son and it has been a year now!
Being a lens expert, I would say, Canon just made the best product possible for beginners. The lens are of heavy build quality and the body looks quite professional. The product also provides an extra zoom-lens which makes it value for money and most importantly, it's user friendly!
My sons operates the manual settings like a charm!
The battery life is extended than the previous models and the bokeh effect(blurry background) is always perfectly staged by the DIGIC Image Processor, by Canon. Apart from that, it performs flawlessly in low light conditions.
Go for it! If you are into photography at a beginner's level.
After all, a perfect picture is all about the perception of the camera and how well he uses his instrument.
An interested-in-learning person can bring out the prettiest of capture with a 2 MP camera but a person not interested in his work cannot click the easiest capture even with a highly professional camera.
It's all about how you learn. Once you master this instrument, you can go for professional models.
