CANDYMAN,a movie made in 1992, still fresh and as horrifying as any of its genre made in 21st century! Isn't it amazing?

I came by this movie through one if the sites which recommends itself to have the names of best Hollywood thrillers. Checked out its rating on imdb, finding a pretty decent 6.4/10 before going for the purchase. Prepared my room with all the curtains closed and lights switched off, sound at its maximum.

The first fifteen minutes and the movie grasped all my attentions with the fabulous story line up about the ghost of a person which appears if you recite "CANDYMAN" five times in front of a mirror. May be my own ways of gaining interest but when a character of the movie told about the legend of CANDYMAN, I was unable to stop myself from searching GOOGLE whether the legend was true or not.

As thought before and also suggested by the DVD cover, it was a movie with more of sense than blood.

Coming back to the story, the movie is about a Helen Lyle (Virginia Madsen) who is doing a college project about the urban legends with her friend Anne (Vanessa Williams). The Candyman rumour inspires her to get into the whole episodes finally making her life traumatizing.

The script and the cast performance are so incredible that there was no real need of special effects or make up or even lots of sound effects. The moment the movie starts, it makes you believe that something real is being shown and there you are afraid even to face a single mirror.

I had not seen any Virginia Madsen movie till yesterday but am sure that my scores are going to increase after this one. Vanessa Williams plays her part with due profficiency. Look for the black guys whom the girls meet while doing the research, everyone is wonderful.

An ending with a chilling question mark will make you look forward to the second and third parts.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED if you enjoy the adrenalin rush in your body. It is frightening, thrilling and exciting.
