First of all let me say that the events of 9-11-2001 changed the lives of Americans. We live in the ''home of the free and brave''. Yes, we are still brave, but not free. We can't be free any longer with constant threats against our country, homes, families and loved ones.
We no longer take each new day for granted, for tomorrow may never come. We live now in a constant state of remembering ''that day''...the day the Twin Towers came toppling down. It was a sad day to learn of all the lost lives...of men, women, children and also rescue workers in the form of firemen, EMS, policemen.
We have learned to live with greater awareness of what is around us. We have learned to live for each day and make the most of it. We have also learned to be more protective of ourselves, families and especially our beloved country.
I ask if this act of terrorism should be just passed over with no retaliation? First of all, ask yourself how you would feel if this happened to your country...to your loved ones? Why was this done? Apparently just for self-gratification of one deranged individual with a vast following. I think as long as people and countries are threatened in this manner there will not be any peace...of any kind.
My heart goes out to all who lost loved ones, friends and family members.
