Goa is all friend groups dream destination so was mine but I went with my family last year exactly during this time of the month and I would like to share my experience of it .
So, we had train tickets booked from Mumbai to goa. We catched our train at Thane station at 10pm. And we just slept had food and enjoyed whole night by the morning we were already at Madgaon station. There is not particular goa "station" we have to get down at Madgaon and from there. there are multiple ways to travel such as taxi and buses. As we went through tourism company the travel was arranged for us. We were welcome with shell necklace . It was beautiful gesture and the excitement just started boost in already. We travelled for maybe approx. an hour to reach our hotel. We stayed at "The hotel Lohias" it was a 4-star hotel and resort. We had 3 rooms for us booked two people in each room.
This resort was 5 minutes away from Calangute beach walking distance . We had our breakfast . They had buffet system with all possible breakfast one can eat the morning . It was very tempting wont lie. we then changed to our new vacation mode dresses because why not! but then we came to know that afternoon is the worst time to go to beach as too much of sunny beaches get at this time. no! we do not want to get sick or tanned. So, we stayed in enjoyed swimming pool, our travel agent had planned our day accordingly. We went to churches and tourist points from north to south goa. We even got a chance to enjoy the cruise party at night. The first day ended like this with perfect buffet food. This hotel was so luxurious wish I could stay my whole life. Now I wanted to see sunrise at beach no matter what because we were leaving the next day in the morning and afternoon not best time. Only chance I had with me was next morning. So, we had our alarms ready and slept early so we could watch sunrise at Calangute beach and enjoy the beauty and peace. Morning happened! I woke up at 4;15am but family was all deep asleep it was still dark outside and by the time I tried waking then all up and getting ready. We missed the sunrise:(. But beach was still there. We hurried to beach as it was not since sunrise and I tell you it was all soooooooooo worth. waking up early running here was all worth. Coming all the way to goa for this maybe was worth. And it is worth the hype to be honest. The beach was so empty as it was early and soooooo clean actually cleanest beaches if compared to beaches at Mumbai. They had chairs under umbrellas lined up nicely placed to see the view while taking rest.
The wind and the air quality there the water was all green and blue and turquoise at the same time. Not a single piece of trash lying anywhere as far as I can see . Everything was well maintianed. I was feeling like I am in a movie or something. Another good thing about Gao and why people love it here is because people here DO NOT JUDGE YOU AT ALL . For your clothes for your color for your religion nothing no one judges or differentiates here. All are welcomed as a tourist. Maybe that's why people run to goa to enjoy a little bit of life freely near oceans and fish food of course. ON that beach there were many restaurants settled up. We hopped in one neared to beautiful view. They had fresh sea food and smell was mesmerizing, We ordered Pomphret and prawns and I don't remember exactly what dishes named my mother ordered. I ordered maggie because Maggie is love in goa in Mumbai in all over the world with such beautiful sight. And we enjoyed our food veryyyyyy tasty. Delicious. Mouthwatering, but as it as tourist place in high demand the food near beaches are very costly. So, I would recommend if you have proper budget fixed you can skip this part or order as per your budget. Do ask them clearly about the price they don't write it on menu its written "Aps" i.e. as per Size of the fish. So, they can ask a lot at the end, but we are not tourists who have lakhs for vacation. So be clear about this point while having food on the beach.
We enjoyed the ocean. Feels like one of the best moments of my life a memory I would love to talk about again and again. We then went to our hotel took bath and had our lunch rest and chilled at our rooms.
Next day was our train to Mumbai so we left After having breakfast.
Well, this was all about my experience and review on goa and its famous Calangute beach, if you are planning to go on vacation this could be good place. but avoid going during December month, New year's invites a lot of tourists and that would not proof to be hassle free vacation, the hotels and everything would be costlier than normal. November is good time! have a great trip;)
