If you love coffee as much as I do and do not flinch in the midst of loud music then this place is for you. Out of curiosity I had ventured into City Center mall, Vashi. The Cafe Coffee Day outlet there looked inviting. I strolled in just to look as I was alone...
The person on the counter had a big smile(welcoming). The place was empty, it was around 10 a.m. I was given a menu...........vast choice of coffee..........I went for Cafe Mocha. It had a bit of chocolate taste blended with coffee(I became a regular here later). The music playing was VH1-Beyonce, All you single ladies.......one of my favourites.
The display counter at the end of the outlet had a variety of sandwiches and pastries. The server boy asked me to try one of the fresh sandwiches.
I tried the chicken Cilantro........found it amazing. I have to mention this, the place was spic and span. The boy had given me a fresh newspaper-The Hindustan Times. So alone, with a cup of coffee and sandwich, with music in the background, I never felt bored.
I tried another Cafe Coffee Day at sector 17, Vashi. Here the space is quite less than the other one. Everything else is same. One thing I did not like here was that the welcoming feel was not there. The cramped space and the loud banter of too many kids was irritating. No privacy here.
The third place I tried was the Cafe coffee day near CST station, Mumbai. This place is one of my favourites. Here the cramped space does not get into your way, as the server boys are always ready to help. Five to six people on the counter, you don't have to get up, anyone catches your eye will come immediately with water or paper or coffee, watever is your need. Here one of the plus point is the washroom is very clean.
For the take-aways, they have a special paper bag which is a good change from the plastic bag.
But for the last few months I have not seen these paper bags(maybe it is discontinued).
CCD has great merchandise too. I once bought a beautiful mug from there. The ambience is great.
The last place I visited was CCD at Belapur. This place I was a bit disappointed. This place could not keep up the reputation of the above three(I thought). Here they had only coffee. The pastries and sandwiches arrived after 12 noon.
Some of my favourite drinks which I found interesting are
Tropical Iceberg.......it has crushed ice in it.
Cafe Frappe..........if you want you can take it without ice cream too.
Cool Blue........it has a unique blue colour.
Caffiene Kick.........it's black(it's best that way).
Any of the teas served here are not good(kind of watery taste).
My advice to anybody who wants to spend time out........does not have a friend to share with.......Cafe Coffee Day is the best option. Take a book also.
