I am writing this review as comments on the review written by a MS member.
First of all I would like to comment on the last para of the review. He has written what he feels while eating a bar of chocolate, and compared it with kissing his lover. It can not be a part of a review on Cadbury chocolate. Any way it is not important.
I am really interested to comment on the controversy part. MS members are aware that last year Cadbury chocolate were found biologically contaminated rendering then highly unsafe for human consumption.
The reviewer has given a certificate to the manufacturer and passed on all the blame to the distributor. This is far from the truth. On what basis he has said that hygienic conditions of the plants are always impeccable, and the trouble comes up at the level of the distributor? I will request him to elaborate on this.
The food safety standards recognized all over the world specify that the entire responsibility from purchase of raw materials to manufacture to distribution and final consumption lies with the manufacturer of food items.
In Hindi it can be said as 'ugaane se khane tak ki saari jimmedari nirmaata ki hay'. Chocolate manufacturer can not transfer his responsibility to the distributor or even a small local grocer. He has to ensure that distributors, retailers and all other involved in the supply chain are equipped with required infrastructure to prevent any contamination in the food item.
If chocolates are to be stored in special environmental conditions then the manufacturer has to ensure that the distributer, retailer and other concerned establishments have this infrastructure. If any contamination takes place then only manufacturer is responsible. It is logical also as all these people are working as manufacturer's representatives.
I am this review might mislead consumers. I thought it my consumer responsibility to put things in the right perspective. No offence is meant.
