Everyone must visit this largely unexplored place. Review on Burrah Cave

Recently I was in Vizag. From Vizag to Aruku Valley is 115 Km away. While coming back towards Vizag, but still a part of lovely Aruku Valley at some 90 Km from Vizag is situated a nature`s marvel, The Burrah cave.

This visit was part of my Aruku valley. Burrah caves have impressed me to the core of my heart.

I reached there by 1230 PM.Had south Indian Lunch for a decent Rs 50 only. There only, my auto driver had conveyed that the Burrah cave would open in the afternoon after the Lunch break at 2 PM(Lunch break from 1PM-2PM)

I had to wait for some 45 minutes. I utilized it for purchasing few local made Bedsheets etc. 20% rebate was being given by the AP government.

How to reach?

Reach up to Vizag by train. There is a passenger train at 0650 from Vizag to Aruku Valley. It takes you to Burrah cave station in 3 hours approx for Rs 20 only.Alternatively, catch buses from the Vizag Bus station, every 1 hour for Rs 50 only. Catch auto after reaching the Burrah bus or railway station. Auto driver even may suggest you value hotels. Believe me, AP people there are very honest.

How much time is enough?

Minimum 2 hours, even if you do not extend your trip for additional adventure trips there.Ticket is Rs 40 per head for adults. For carrying digital camera you need to pay Rs 100. But, I feel, due to semi darkness prevailing, it`s wise just to carry your multimedia mobile, free of cost, though the price was written Rs 25. But, they permit you to carry mobile free of cost. You may deposit your camera for a rental of Rs 5 and a token of receipt will be given.

The MAIN thing!

Got a good guide for Rs 80 after a bargaining from Rs 100. You start your journey coming down with a lot of staircases.Before you enter you are shown a river with big sizes of shining marble stones. You just feel like to reach there and touch with your own hand. However I ignored going there due to less time and energy at my disposal. I wish, someone must have written a review exclusively on MS. I could have kept more time and energy at my disposal!

I was told by the guide that this easy going cemented staircases were constructed just four years ago. Earlier only tribal were able to move here. Thanks to the AP government that normal public is now able to see this wonderful work of nature. They have put some minimum number of lights to have a feel of this cave.

I even saw a place where it clearly shows that two caves are joined together, a very distinct look indeed.I was wondering a lot seeing it.

At every places, I was surprised to see the various natural structures. I saw almost all the structures of Hindu God and Goddesses, naturally made. I saw them in the powerful searchlights provided by the guide.

At least at some 50 occasions, I uttered `Oh my God`, `wonderful`, `great` etc.

Myself being Masters in Chemistry, found many interesting terminology like the Calcium Carbonate, Marbel stones, Chemical reactions, Sulphate etc.

You can even have a feel of train moving above the cave. I was lucky, as one goods train was passing that time above the cave.

Did you know that Bats eat stones too.I got the proof there. Due to a large number of Bats out of competition for the suitable space at the ceiling, they keep eating softer stones!

Due to darkness, I had struggle to have even few solid photographs. Thanks to the guide, I managed 4-5 photographs.

In total, I covered a total of 500 staircases. It was little tough for a lady, but exciting at the same time. It was a lifetime experience for me. Recommended for all.
