Burger King created quite a hype when they opened in Bangalore, especially as they are a well-established international chain, and their USP was something on the menu which no one had offered before - mutton.
Initially I was a bit reluctant, and the long queues of people at the counters used to be a further deterrent. Eventually in a month's time, the crowd eased away and I had a chance to sample some of their burgers. Like most other people, I had my expectations quite high - at the very least, I expected something which would outdo the existing chains(KFC & McD). However, when I got to the taste of the burgers, I was rather disappointed.
Don't get me wrong here - there's nothing wrong with the taste of the burgers. But there's nothing new or nothing innovative. There's nothing that would have you switch over from some other chain to Burger King. The pricing is on the same level as McDonalds, with a bit of a premium for mutton items. As with most other chains, cheese is never standard on the burgers and is always charged extra. Meal combo's are just about same too.
For a change, their "Big Boss Whopper" does seem a better proposition over McDonald's Maharaja Mac, though I am yet to give it a try. As a general closing comment, it's just another variety added to a list of burger joints, worth a visit or two.
