Burger King is the Home of the Whopper, founded in 1954 with a single outlet in Miami, Florida. They quickly spread throughout the United States as well as 56 other countries.
Burger King is an acceptable place to grab a burger and fries. The burgers are all flame-broiled and not quite as greasy as the place with the golden arches, but of course they may just be my opinion or the way it is in my city. I think the burgers have more taste being flame-broiled. My favorite thing about Burger King is their motto, ''Have it Your Way''. Burger King will add or delete any item of your choice so you can have your burger just the way YOU like it! At other fast food places they seem to get annoyed if you ask for special things. This won't happen at Burger King!
Burger King also has the Whopper Jr. which is a mini Whopper. It is dressed with tomato, lettuce, onion, mayo, mustard and ketchup. They also have the Original Chicken Sandwich which is an oblong shaped sandwich. Other menu items include: chicken fingers, small hamburgers, small cheeseburgers, Cheeseburger Supreme (BK version of the Big Mac), fish sandwich, specialty burgers like double stack cheeseburgers, and of course french fries and onion rings. The newest item on the menu is a Chicken Whopper. I haven't tried it yet myself but my daughter said she didn't care for it.
Burger King also offers specials frequently. Right now they have one item a day for $.99. For instance on Monday, the original chicken sandwich is the specialty item. Tuesday; two regular cheeseburgers, Wednesday; chicken fingers. Thursday is two regular hamburgers, Friday's special is the fish sandwich. The weekend specials are Saturday, the Whopper Jr. and Sunday Double Cheeseburger. They are also offering two Cheeseburger Supreme's for $2.00 in our area. This is a great value, the burgers are big and fill you up!
They also serve breakfast consisting of biscuits, crosoints, sasauge and/or ham biscuits, french toast fingers. Items vary with each location.
Burger King went to the top of my list when one of my children were sick when they were younger. She had a sore throat and wasn't eating very much. I asked her the next morning after refusing to eat anything for breakfast what she wanted. Her reply was ''french fries''. So we got in the car and went to another fast food place. They refused to serve lunch items before 11 am. It was only 9:30 am so we left and went to the Burger King drive thru. They took my order as if it was an every day kind of thing! I promptly thanked the manager on duty for this special favor to me!
You can dine in or choose to use the drive-in. I find the dining rooms to be on the untidy side in our city of Baton Rouge, LA.
Overall I give BK a thumbs up. You can't beat the value here and the food is generally good! Check the one nearest you to see what the specials are and HAVE IT YOUR WAY!
