I visited the Buhari hotel in ECR for getting Kothu parotta. First thing I noticed is that it was priced too high at Rs. 200. I asked how many parottas they will put for preparing it. They said 2 parottas. I don't think this price is justifiable for just 2 parottas.
Second thing is that I was waiting for more than 25 minutes to get the parcel. They didn't have a regard for my time. So if you are time conscious, this is not the place for you.
Thirdly, the quantity was poor and it could never fill in a hungry person.
Fourthly, only kothu parotta was given in a box. Not even the curd-onion raitha was given after taking so much price. Some hotels give gravy also with the parotta. But here nothing was given. No value for the money paid. They simply exist to siphon away your money.
Finally, the taste was horrible. It was salty. It did not have chicken pieces at all. It was dull in taste and salty. This is because it did not have the right mix of quality ingredients.
This is typical of a Chennai hotel. Most of the Chennai hotels are like this. This also goes in hand with the culture of the place where people doing business are only interested in getting the money out of people. Compare this to cities like Mumbai and Hyderabad, where you got good hotels for food. They too charge well but there is value for money.
When will Chennai see some good hotels?
